Well, I have run out of time. So, I will post this…kinda like a blurb. (I sure hope I used that word correctly ;))
This past June I was diagnosed with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in-situ) stage 0. It was not a biggy. Lumpectomy, radiation (maybe), and tamoxifen. After some summer vacationing (by the doctors), we scheduled an MRI. It showed a suspicious area in the left. After an ultrasound and another biopsy, presto…IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) stage 1. This happened in August. After a couple second opinions, and a FISH test, I also have a special characteristic HER2+. All this leads to a double mastectomy. The chances of chemo are very high, but no one will say definitely until final pathology. HER2+ responds very well to chemo…that’s the good news. So, in just a few hours I will report to the hospital to have the double mastectomy and possibly a port placed. We are praying no cancer in any lymph nodes. Lymph node activity is a game changer.
My community has been amazing. We are so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love. God has got this and I am so very blessed to be surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses who intercede for us daily. God is good, people…ALL the time.
Love you sweet friend and I’m lifting you up in prayer. Thank you so much for doing this blog!
